The side by side eating with the cat belies the mayhem that ensues
Bosley has left his mark on several rooms in our house. He has altered the way we plan our social life...
COMING BACK after a day out can be very traumatic--but never so traumatic as the first day after Bosley had trashed a room.
We had left Bosley and the cat in the house with pretty much access to all areas. The TV was left on because it was suggested he might be convinced someone was about! (I ask you!)
There was barking from the dining room. The door was shut. The door couldn't be opened. There was something behind the door that hadn't been there when we left! It was a ripped up carpet and underlay.
When we finally got the door open the full extent of his destruction was apparent: not only was the carpet dug up and torn at the door, but he had tried to eat his way out of the door--concentrating on the door post.
I was dumbfounded. I didn't speak to him for almost two days. But
Val had to extract the wood splinters from between his teeth. To
check all was well we took him to the vet--who had to anaesthetise
him to do it. There was no damage to his mouth--only to our
pocket!
Since then we have made sure that he has access to that room but can't shut the door on himself. It was that that had made him do so much damage.
THE NEXT ROOM to receive similar treatment was the study. Same damage to carpet and similar attack on the door frame. All because he got himself shut in. Now that door is either shut--or wedged open.
Not content with those rooms he also attacked the BATHROOM in a similar way.
I am glad to say that since then by a range of strategies we have prevented the damage to other rooms.
Now his mayhem is restricted to pulling down coats from hooks in the hall. Tipping the kitchen bin over to scatter and scavenge and of course puddles--if not worse!
