Settling in

The first hurdle Bosley had to jump was how to adjust to the cat ...

Co existence

The big question when Bosley first came to Stanley Grove was "How will he get on with the cat?"  Like many of his sort, Bosley loves chasing cats.

To start with the cat simply left home! She escaped to the back yard and beyond and stayed there.  I was not impressed, after all Charley is MY pet.

It took time--and Bosley learned that he could get his head through the cat flap--and that's all. He also learned that Charley has sharp claws.

In a while he accepted that she was "Top Dog".   If she was in the passage or on the stairs he would not even attempt to pass her.

Now he sometimes barks when his mistress is upstairs and the cat is blocking his route--but mostly there is a studied truce.

We have even been able to feed them both from the same bowl.  But that isn't often practical.  Cat food doesn't suit the Puli's digestion, and Bosley has learned that if you don't eat your own food the cat will come to finish it off.

Charley is fed on a dresser shelf. Bosley eats from his bowl in the corner.  They both share the water dish.

I never thought it would happen but it did. Now the cat comes out with him as far as the front gate for a walk, and waits for him to come home.  She'll sometimes come up to him and sniff his nose!

They both like to sit with us in the evenings.

Meanwhile, Bosley still wreaks havoc when we go out. The cat does nothing to prevent it!

What a sweet dog!

Windswept!

Aaah!  What a nice dog, he's learnt to beg!
